Microsoft Investment Optimization (IO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. This role is at the center of the reinvention and innovation of our engineering resource allocation opportunity, with partnership with executive finance leaders and impacting company-wide decisions.

The Commercial Product & Infrastructure team (CPI) Central FP&A team drives insights by acting as an independent lens that offers its own analysis and observations, creates clarity by driving Rhythms of Business (ROB) transparency, facilitating, and leading Close, Forecast, and quarterly review processes, and protect by ensuring compliance across the CPI Finance team. We are looking for a talented Senior Finance Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Modeling & Analysis: Create/manage end to end financial modeling to support consolidated Planning activities, and monthly analysis of specific costs on the P&L, KPI process, and Long Range Plan central modeling.

  • Financial Reporting Drive insightful monthly financial reporting & analysis through preparation of key deliverables for monthly Close, Planning (Forecast, Target, Budget, etc.) within organizational and corporate timelines.

  • Rhythms of Business (ROB) Drive ROB with Finance teams for Forecasting, Long Range Planninng (LRP), Target Setting, Budgeting and Close.

  • Thought Leadership Display thought leadership by driving continuously improving financial processes and insightfulness of information presented.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supply chain and/or data center infrastructure a plus.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications

  • Proven Excel and modeling skills.

  • Thorough and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable handling ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at fast pace

  • Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritize as needed

  • Partnering capabilities, collaborative and inclusive when working with others

  • Synthesize and communicate analyses and reporting; provide insight to leaders

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
