Our Electrical Engineering and Firmware team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead High Speed Signal design, architecture definition, development, and characterization on existing and future products. The candidate will possess the ability to collaborate closely with electrical engineers responsible for peripheral subsystems, System in a Chip design teams, System in a Chip development partners, firmware and software teams, design validation and test teams, manufacturing teams, and mechanical and thermal development teams to ensure all performance and quality metrics are met to deliver world-class consumer electronics. The candidate will be versed in electrical engineering, particularly related to high-speed input/output, architecture, test, application, and manufacturing processes. The candidate needs to have an understanding of circuit design, timing analysis, operation, power, performance, in addition to experience in Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) and high-speed USB implementations.

The candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of core engineering principles,

analytical process, disciplined methodology, superior problem-solving skills, and a passion for

developing technologies and products with a broad scope of impact. Experience will include

significant contributions designing memory devices in the development of world-class consumer

electronic products or similar industries.

This candidate will own all aspects of the High-Speed Input Output Interface architecture and design that will be employed on existing Xbox console variants as well as future designs and shall ensure a good customer experience from product inception through end-of-life. The candidate will be supporting many subsystems that require High Speed signalling knowledge including PCIe and USB. The candidate will be responsible for the architecture, design, and characterization of the High Speed subsystems on XBOX devices from early prototypes to high volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

· 8+ years of technical engineering experience

o OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or

related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience

o OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or

related field AND 3+ years of technical engineering experience

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related

field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience

o OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or

related field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience.

  • Knowledge of other high-speed subsystems like HDMI, Display Port, or memory

  • Technical leadership, communication skills, and a willingness to tackle big challenges

  • 5+ years of experience designing, debugging, and testing high-speed electrical interfaces.

  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and shipping high-volume consumer electronic devices.

  • A deep understanding of electrical schematic design and integration.

  • Previous experience with System on Chip design and implementation including High Speed Inbound Outbound ball-out and IP analysis.

  • Familiarity with schematic capture tools, PCB layout tools, and the ability to utilize both to quickly iterate on schematic and PCB design.

  • A solid understanding of electrical lab equipment including oscilloscopes, DDMs, signal generators, thermal chambers, temperature sensing, network analyzers, test automation etc.

  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing design challenges.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to clearly present complex design tradeoffs.

Electrical Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
