The Gaming CEO's office is seeking a leader to collaborate with the Gaming organization in creating, planning, and implementing effective employee engagement messages and communication methods. This effort will enable our business to inspire and motivate every team member to contribute to the success of our players and creators. The Senior Director of Internal Communications, Gaming will act as a trusted advisor to both the CEO and the Gaming Leadership Team, collectively driving storytelling that will shape the future of play. Ultimately, this position will achieve success individually and through others as we pioneer new territory in gaming.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team to develop and deploy strategy for employee communications and platforms aligned to the strategic priorities for organizational and geographical employee goals

  • Manage a team and encourage an inclusive environment for the creation of ideas for and development of collateral materials (e.g., decks, posts, talking points) for use in a range of communications initiatives and events

  • Ensure strategic intent as foundation for execution of tactics and ensures rhythm of business (e.g., cadence, intent, content to keep stakeholders informed and up to date) is established

  • Support team to collaborate with others on the development and production of communications materials and deployment of communications tactics

  • Align internal communication strategies and tactics with our external communications and marketing organizations

  • Demonstrate thought leadership that strengthens Microsoft's position as a trusted partner

  • Lead team to develop and drive stories in fresh ways that generate positive perceptions towards Microsoft

  • Guide team to monitor, track, and analyze the impact of and responses to messaging for a given issue

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 8+ years Communications, Marketing Operations, Program Management, Project Management, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of people management experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading and/or driving internal communications initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience leading internal and external communications, or marketing communications for an organization

  • 5+ years of experience in the gaming and entertainment industries creating employee excitement and landing thought leadership

  • Proven record of fostering collaboration and managing high-performance teams – attracting, developing and retaining top talent

  • A deep understanding and passion for the gaming market, trends, and culture

  • Proven track record of navigating multiple, competing priorities and diverse stakeholders across international teams

  • Experience strategizing and executing communications initiatives while remaining aligned to the brand and brand reputation management

  • A creative and proactive mindset with the ability to successfully navigate within a dynamic, highly-matrixed organization

  • Extensive media relations experience and compelling writing and communication skills

Communications M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $152,300 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $194,800 - $292,200 per year.
