MICROSOFT CORP Security Operations Engineering in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Corporation has the following opportunity: Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. Plan, architect, deploy and/or support complex client/server or base software systems. Execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce, and web-based systems. Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and determine next steps, including potential escalations. May develop and implement automation of security process and procedure, and translate security policy into effective controls. Respond to security incidents, conduct threat intelligence and analysis, and use data analytics to drive security decisions. Conduct and support operations or improve security posture. Maintain hardware, software, and network firewalls and encryption protocols. Administer security policies to control access to systems. Telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Information Systems, Physics or related. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employer will accept an additional 24 months of experience in a computer related occupation.
  • Experience: 12 months of experience in a computer related occupation.
  • Specific Skills: Education or experience in Security and Compliance Center, Azure Active Directory, and Networking; and 3 months of experience in Defender for Endpoint, Windows Networking, and Kusto Query Language.

     

Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.

 

Pay Range and Benefits Information: The offered base pay range for this specific position (V5725126), based in Redmond, WA (but telecommuting permitted 100% from any location in the U.S.), is $167,120 to $197,120 per year.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.? 

 

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
