​​As a Security Assurance Specialist, you will gain expertise in analyzing threat trends and anomalies to determine operational impact and identify potential mitigation strategies. You will develop skills in identifying and escalating security defects or vulnerabilities, and begin to address security issues with customers and partners in a timely manner. Additionally, you will contribute to analysis reports and communicate findings and recommendations to decision makers, enhancing your problem-solving and communication abilities.​

Responsibilities

  • ​​Begin to develop expertise in class or set of security issues, tools, mitigations, and processes (e.g., architecture, failure modes, attack chain, threat modeling, vulnerabilities). Ensure skills remain current by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments and proactively seeking new knowledge.​

  • ​​Address security issues with customers and partners, using appropriate tools to isolate and solve problems, coordinating responses, and following up to ensure resolution. Escalate issues as needed.​

  • ​​Schedule and adjust security analysis, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and support security research of Microsoft and competitor products.​

  • ​​Analyze threat trends and anomalies to determine operational impact, identify threat vectors and mitigation strategies, and understand systemic security issues, deployment scenarios, and Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) theories.​

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • ​​Bachelor's Degree (or currently pursuing) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field​

  • ​​OR experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection​

  • ​​OR equivalent experience​

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection (enterprise experience)​

  • ​​Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification, Security+ Certification, or relevant certification​

Security Assurance IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
