Job Title: UX Researcher

Contract Length: 18 Months

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: $40/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Analyze various datasets in Azure to identify user behavior and business opportunities alongside Quant and Qual UX researchers.

  • Collaboration: Work with researchers, data scientists, and product managers to discuss findings and surface the best opportunities.

  • Research: Investigate telemetry questions around product and user behavior.

  • Visualization: Create dashboards and visualizations to help researchers understand customer behavior.

Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm:

  • 20% Meetings

  • 50% Hands-on work

  • 30% Discussions

Performance Indicators:

  • Ability to interpret data for others and manage large datasets effectively.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required:

  1. Usability Research: Minimum 2+ years of experience.

  2. Proficiency in Query Language (SQL, KQL, or Python): Minimum 2+ years of experience.

  3. Quantitative UX Research: Minimum 2+ years of experience driving, organizing, and delivering research.

Required Candidate Preparation:

  1. UX Portfolio Presentation: Candidates must present their UX portfolio, demonstrating skills in data scoping, analyzing, drawing insights, applying insights, and following up.

  2. Querying Test: Candidates will be tested on their querying skills.

Requirements:

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Query Language (SQL, KQL, or Python) and experience handling large telemetry datasets.

  • Research Skills: Experience driving, organizing, and delivering quantitative UX research.

  • Data Literacy: Proficiency in basic statistical methodologies (e.g., t-test, ANOVA, linear regression).

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Independence: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Education/Experience:

  • Experience: 2+ years as a data scientist, quant UX researcher, or related field.

  • Education: BA or MA/MS in data science, mathematics, human-computer interaction, engineering, or a related field.
