Actalent Quality Control Asssociate in REDMOND, Washington

Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and execute protocols, according to high scientific standards, under minimal supervision following GLP and cGMP guidelines.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to perform all duties assigned.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebook and documentation according to regulatory guidelines.

  • Effectively understand the meaning of assay results and be able to relay them to other team members to troubleshoot any problems encountered.

  • Perform a variety of wet chemistry and biological assays for all samples submitted for analysis and provide results according to a timeline.

  • Identify any OOS/OOT results and work with Quality Assurance to identify any potential root causes where applicable.

  • Generate and review Standard Operating Procedures for lab equipment, assays, and tasks associated with all QC activities.

  • Help to maintain lab cleanliness and tidiness.

  • Periodically present results and summarize progress to team members.

  • Intellectually contribute to group goals by staying current with scientific literature and state-of-the-art methodology.

  • Effectively prioritize tasks to meet goals and drive projects to completion according to timelines.

  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the Team Lead.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work around chemicals.

  • Ability to walk and stand for periods of time.

  • Repetitive bending and reaching to set up and break-down equipment.

  • Wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, gowning, and respiratory protection in some cases.

Education:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology.

  • Microbiology

  • Fermentation

  • Bioreactor

  • Bacteria culture

  • Media prep

  • Aseptic technique

  • Mammalian cell culture

  • Qc

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Preferred Skill Sets: 1) BS in Sciences 2) Experience working for a vaccine company/infectious diseases a plus through industry or Academic research. Previous GLP experience
