Description Are you an individual contributor exercising both business systems analysis and project management? Your expertise in accounting functions and systems will prove invaluable in this Project Manager position. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can oversee financial projects and keep them on track. The Project Manager will work closely with Business Analysts to complete the detailed requirements documentation that may feature data mapping to accounting systems for correct accounting and reporting of transactions. These business requirements will need to incorporate specifications gathered from the accounting leadership team and input from key participants from other functional areas. This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Redmond, Washington area.
Your responsibilities in this role
Communicates business requirements and business process design to development team
Creates and handles project sponsor expectations and recognizes business drivers. When required, requests changes to project scope, timing, or resources to ensure strategic solutions are delivered
Works to prioritize concurrent project and support assignments and meets stakeholder expectations
Works closely with business users to describe and research business requirements
Manages work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports, issue management and risk mitigation
Launches governance approaches for the projects to result in consistent and clear communication as well as issue resolution Requirements - Experience in a range of project management software like Microsoft Project, SmartSheet or other similar applications
Experience working with or in an accounting function with a key role in system projects preferred
Comfortable taking the lead in areas such as business and technical requirements analysis, documentation, modeling and testing methodologies & development
Comprehensive knowledge of navigating basic office equipment and protocols
Ability to analyze complex business problems, propose effective solutions and understand and apply business vision and direction
Able to use and act upon independent judgement
Candidates with a Project Management and/or Business Systems Analyst Certification are preferred
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to executive management, team members, business and technology professionals
Strong project planning and management tasks, business systems support functions and project costing techniques
Bachelor'Microsoft degree in accounting or finance & Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
