Microsoft's PKI environment establishes a platform for trustworthy operations for both Microsoft and millions of our customers, their data and devices. PKI is a critical component of many of Microsoft products and cloud services and certificates are being used to establish identify and enable access, facilitate encryption, signing, and to support other scenarios. In all uses, it is essential to both manage the lifecycle of certificates and ensure that all components of all PKIs are engineered and operated in a robust, consistent, and measurably compliant manner.
We are looking for a motivated, curious Program Manager to join us in driving the evolution of the PKI and Certificate & Asset Lifecycle Management services to meet exponential growth in demand, proactively negate emerging threat vectors, and meet additional needs driven by emerging business scenarios. This position also offers an opportunity to collaborate with key technology providers (e.g., Azure) to drive alignment and features between the teams. Contribute to the evolution and improvement of robust and effective internal PKI policy requirements
Work closely with customers and partners to understand needs and oversee service feature roadmaps defined by the Program Managers. Ensure scenario success (outcomes & measures), service requirements (functional, telemetry and data visualizations), and risks/issues for service releases are defined.
Consult, influence, coordinate and proactively engage at a technical level with the Microsoft PKI operations and software engineering teams
Work closely with engineering teams to prioritize and manage service backlog and phase scenario delivery into iterative chunks. Drive functional design and influence technical strategy and designs. Continually measure success and integrate learnings into future iterations.
Drive and coordinate project management and service roadmap communications to team members, customers, and partners
Collaborate with critical service delivery partners (DevOps engineers, infrastructure and security experts) to ensure continuous improvement in customer experience via a well-defined program management rhythm.
Build and maintain customer relationships
Understand competitive landscape to inform service evolution
Maintain relationships with key technology providers to understand and incorporate new features.
Maintain compliance activities related to the service(s)
Nurture a healthy, diverse, and inclusive team culture
2+ years program and/or product management experience shipping multiple iterations of software and services
Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies
Demonstrated experience with PKI or similar computer security and crypto fundamentals, techniques, and standards
Experience in architecting, designing and delivering highly available, highly scalable, reliable, and secure distributed services
Practical experience with data security and information security, including certificate-enabled mitigations and applications
Experience in cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and/or Google Compute Platform
Experience with distributed systems, as well as secure infrastructure design
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Passion for working with customers and translating their requirements into engineering features
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science Engineering or similar field a strong plus
