Microsoft Azure provides an on-demand and infinitely scalable platform for customers to build, host, and service applications through our global data centers. The Azure CXP (Customer Experience) organization within Azure Engineering is on a mission to transform our customers into fans through our product and platform engineering, service delivery, onboarding, and customer success teams. We are responsible for deploying and managing customers' mission-critical workloads, providing E2E customer care through in-product experiences, diagnostic platforms, and strategic customer support delivery, and driving customer-driven product innovations and improvements.

At Microsoft, we are deeply committed to our customers, and Azure CXP's Product and Platform team is charged with building the Customer Experience products & platform to unify customer engagements, customer care and provide cross-cloud consistency to our internal and external customers. We are building a data platform at the base of this vision and are looking for an established Technical Program Manager with experience working on Modern Data Platforms, specifically the ingestion and consumption layers, core to such a platform. Responsibilities

We are treading new ground in defining how to think about a customer experience data platform for Azure. As a PM for this area, you will play a critical role in realizing this vision. In this role, you will be responsible for building the requirements around data ingestion and consumption while also contributing to the architecture and design. You will learn from, influence, and collaborate with a vast network of stakeholders across many data domains to build a shared understanding and alignment on the roadmap and execution for the platform. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of modern data platforms, data ingestion, consumption, analysis, data science, and deriving customer insights based on data, with a proven history of leading agile development of reusable tools and frameworks for real-time data processing, analytics, and streaming unstructured data within enterprise systems.

  • Develop requirements and align the team on the ingestion and consumption layers of the customer Experience Data Platform. The ingestion layer needs requirements for Streaming and Batch Data, while the Consumption layer consists of Notifications, API Access and Query Access.

  • Build a prioritized roadmap of features to build the ingestion and consumption layers of the platform

  • Contribute to the overall design of the Data Platform, banking on previous experience as well as research across the industry

  • Expertly partner with key players in the Customer Experience & Success space, both within Azure and across Microsoft, to maintain alignment, ensure knowledge and information sharing and drive meaningful outcomes for the organization.

  • Solve complex data integration, processing, and analytical problems with reusable frameworks.

  • Design and build tooling for business to manage data quality and perform self-service exploration and analysis of raw and curated data on the platform.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of program/product management, software engineering or data science experience where your primary responsibilities involved the design/delivery of software features working closely with an engineering team

  • 2+ years' experience working on Data Ingestion and/or Consumption

  • 3+ years’ experience translating customer requirements and scenarios into features, including writing software specifications with user experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bias for action and influence across non-direct reporting teams.

  • Experience with Azure or other public cloud experience (AWS, GCP).

  • Experience using data to drive prioritization and measure progress

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written); Ability to clearly communicate business problems and complex technical issues to a broad audience

  • Excellent cross-discipline leadership, collaboration and influencing skills. Lead, drive change and influence without authority across groups and executives

  • Experience leading and executing simultaneous projects in a complex organizational environment

  • Collaborate with a variety of people across many business and data domains

  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence

  • Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications (e.g., emails, papers)

  • Propensity for maintaining objectivity and balanced judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments

  • High situational awareness and emotional intelligence coupled with excellent networking and interpersonal skills for collaborating across multiple organizations, teams, and professional levels.
