To help accelerate player engagement & drive growth across the global business, we are looking to hire a creative, results-oriented product marketer who wants to be part of the team that takes Minecraft to the next level while helping shape the future of gaming & education at Microsoft.
This role will collaborate with talented marketing teams based in Redmond, Stockholm, Beijing, Guangzhou, as well as engineering, marketing, PR, finance, education and business leaders across Microsoft. You’ll roll-up your sleeves & deliver marketing programs with the potential to shape one of the biggest brands of all time.
The Minecraft Product Marketing Manager will develop & execute product marketing plans in support of Minecraft and Minecraft: Education Edition in the China market. Key responsibilities include creating a unified development and marketing vision for the product, collaborating closely with talented engineering, business, PR, finance, and creative teams across Microsoft, Mojang, and our international publishing partners, along with a global community of players and educators to hone product design and feature prioritization, define business and marketing objectives, prioritize target audiences, refine our value proposition and messaging, as well as lead and land global go-to-market campaigns.
The candidate is creative and a results-oriented product marketer who is fluent in English and Mandarin, effective at optimizing results through owned, earned, and paid marketing channels, and enjoys the thrill of working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Equally important is the ability to effectively lead and build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders, deliver an effective go-to-market plan, and wants to be a part of the team that takes Minecraft to the next level in key Asian markets.
Build and execute B2C and B2B marketing strategies and plans for the Minecraft business in China
Establish trust, manage, and foster relationships as a primary marketing contact for key China business partners
Design and execute local content campaigns and/or activations with O&O/partner channels that drive customer objectives, outcomes, and success
Coordinate custom asset development & localization for China, overseeing asset approval process with the Studio teams in Redmond and Stockholm
Develop influencer strategies for growth market Minecraft Mentors (in partnership with the Minecraft: Education Edition Community lead)
Work with local market subsidiary and partners to develop event strategies & execute local events (Hour of Code, Back-to-School, after school programs, etc.)
Represent Minecraft as appropriate at key industry events, presentations, and partner/executive briefings.
Knowledge of gaming & education technology industry and trends
Understanding of China gaming & education ecosystem preferred
Experience in brand management and ensuring partners adapt and implement brand values and guidelines in all creative executions, marketing campaigns, and partnership investments
Strong project management skills
Passion for working in ambiguous, fast-paced start-up environments
5+ years of business and consumer marketing experience across large-scale consumer brands
Experience in working with China business partners preferred
Demonstrated experience negotiating successful deals with external partners
Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical skills, including the ability to effectively lead cross-departmental teams and articulate complex topics at varying levels of detail
Fluency in Mandarin language
