For customers in regulated industries, a decision to migrate to the cloud can be more complex due to compliance considerations. For Financial Service (FSI) customers regulatory compliance and security requirements are paramount. Their barriers to entry before they deploy are therefore higher. Financial Services organizations also have more exacting expectations of cloud value propositions. Our response is to double down in meeting or exceeding their expectations: (a) help them appreciate how compliance and security are easier in the cloud and (b) demonstrate how our productivity and teamwork solutions help them realize business value by enabling digital transformation in the context of a bank.

According to Gartner, Financial Services is the most ripe industry for digital transformation. Business leaders in this industry have indicated that digital transformation is their highest business priority, and their IT budgets back that up. CIOs in FinServ have been entrusted to lead this change, according to Gartner, but they are struggling to be change agents outside of their traditional domains of security and compliance. They struggle with cultural resistance to change. Moreover, many FSI CIOs are unsure how to help the business extract value from their IT investments to accelerate business growth and improve market share. We can help FSI CIOs and LOB leaders with verticalized solutions and GTM programs. The more verticalized the effort, the easier it is for the business decision makers to see the value and the more apt they are to embrace the change. That’s our charge: support business and IT leaders in FSI to catalyze change and see it through with the promise of Microsoft 365’s value.

We work closely with engineering across all workloads, with industry sales leaders and with segment leaders to ensure these efforts are coordinated with existing engines. We work with other marketing organizations like the Global Demand Center and other industry marketing efforts to ensure we garner and nurture leads, show up optimally at events, and claim the industry leadership that we work so hard to earn.


The GTM lead for Financial Services will lead the charge in refining and landing this approach and is accountable for:

  • Tracking business performance and systematically capture feedback to hone the strategy and scale best practices

  • Supporting and landingthestrategy for FSI marketing, ensuring our assets are leveraged and optimized for field sellers

  • Demonstrating customer value for our FSIsolutions, leading with compliance, security and teamwork

  • Refining solutions and positioning for FSI customers

  • Supporting the marketing programs that deliver value to FSI customers

  • Aligning with the FSI GEPs

  • Supporting industry events and lead the effort for Microsoft 365

  • Partnering with engineering and CELA to earn credibility with FSI regulators


The ideal candidate will bring a host of skills and experiences, including:

  • product marketing management 

  • track record of process and operational excellence

  • whitespace opportunity analysis and mapping

  • rigorous strategy definition and execution 

  • ability to manage and lead extended v-teams across business groups, sales and engineering 

  • track record of being a self-starter 

  • three years in product marketing or solution sales

  • track record in industry marketing or sales is a plus but not required  

  • MBA or equivalent field expertise
