Microsoft Corporation Product Manager II in Redmond, Washington

The Hybrid Networking Product Management team is designing the networking services that get customers into Azure, bringing the physical world to the cloud! We're hiring a Product Manager to work across these services to enable a cohesive, customer focused portfolio. Come help us make this critical Azure area even more successful!

As a Product Manager II for Azure ExpressRoute, you will work with cross-functional teams to shape the future of the product. You will analyze landscape, prioritize critical features, define customer/technical requirements and scope to enhance our product offerings. You will work with engineering to ensure we deliver our solutions on-time, with the highest quality, resiliency, telemetry and scalability to effectively deliver demands from the largest Azure customers. Your focus will be on reliability, supportability, and security of the product. This will be a visible and rewarding experience! You'll be learning and working with key network technologies (BGP, Virtual Networks, Cloud Networking Infrastructure, SDN, Physical Connectivity, etc.), ensuring we are operating them in the most secure manner possible, and providing reliability and stability based on direct customer feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and track success criteria of various features within ExpressRoute product offering. You’ll also partner with others to identify short-term investment opportunities and collaborate with partners to garner support for identified features.

  • Define a feature set and will facilitate usability reviews with customers. You’ll own a portion of the roadmap for a feature group, and will organize scenario walkthroughs to identify problems.

  • Partner with Product Marketing teams by helping build marketing, roll-out, and customer support plans. You’ll also promote the group of features you worked on and co-present at large events.

  • Partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses to incrementally improve product development in specific areas. You’ll also begin to manage customer communities and build trust with targeted customers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience with networking technology (cloud or terrestrial), especially advanced routing and switching

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management OR software development OR eqivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience delivering complex features from inception to completion.

  • 2+ years of experience working with cloud service providers like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or other large, distributed platforms.

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
