We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineering Manager who can build a team and deliver core cloud security services for the entire Azure infrastructure. This role requires a technically proficient leader who wants to have a broad impact across Azure and Microsoft.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for building a team, working with various stakeholders, and shaping up strategy for securing Microsoft infrastructure including Azure.

• You will be working in a fast-paced environment to build and deliver highly available, distributed services end-to-end, that secure core Azure components, including hosts, VMs, functions, containers, etc.

• You will provide leadership support with a model, coach & care approach.

• Your responsibilities will encompass recruiting and developing engineers and leaders within the organization, setting the product and technical direction, creating multi-year roadmaps, and aligning teams towards a set of common objectives.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of people management experience.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building & growing teams.

• Experience in working with partners across geographic locations and time zones.

• Technical leadership to drive initiatives across organizations.

• Passion for building and designing large-scale systems.

• Experience in background security.

• Ability to deal with ambiguity and be willing to learn and adopt new technologies/industry trends.

Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
