The Commerce Financial Services team (CFS), under Cloud + AI, delivers core services on a scale that powers large scale commerce across Microsoft. Our mission is to provide the richest commerce capabilities that enable growth for Microsoft through business model innovations.

The Financial Experiences team is responsible for building world-class services and solutions that allow Microsoft to run financial processes on a scale, remain competitive, agile, and be an industry reference. CFS is looking for a Principal Software Architect for their FinEx Procurement organization with cross-function integration knowledge, strategic thinking, and superior inter-personal and communication skills.

You will be responsible for the overall design and architecture of all Procurement business solutions including SAP Ariba, SAP ECC/S4 HANA within and around the existing landscape, as well as envisaging and enabling future state infrastructures that will support modern, intelligent services and user experiences, through technological innovation and building partnerships across the company. You will work with the organization Partner-level leader and their leadership team of engineering principals in addition to partnering with leaders across Commerce and Ecosystems, Azure and the rest of the company to help build flexible and high-performing Procurement Solutions that enable next generation of Procurement services. The Microsoft implementation of SAP is a large-scale enterprise solution featuring SAP ECC 6.0 EHP8 (FI-CO, SD, SCM, HCM, GTS). The individual hired for this position will design and implement solutions for Procurement service line using Ariba & SAP technology.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategy, vision, and execution for the Financial Experiences Procurement team in collaboration with leaders across multiple disciplines.

  • Define and drive technical strategy and architecture investments by overseeing, influencing, and owning efforts and design discussions for the overall system architecture of entire Procurement products/solutions that are deeply complex and often ambiguous.

  • Develop design documents for Next Generation Solution designs or User Stories and determine the technology that will be leveraged and how they will interact.

  • Lead design discussions with the team, perform Proof of Concept on system, share findings/learnings from investigations & own design decisions.

  • Provide technical leadership & mentorship to ensure system architecture meets security, compliance & reliability requirements and expectations.

  • Lead by example & mentor others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across the company.

  • Provide technical leadership/consultation during code reviews for a solution/product area to assure it meets the team's and Microsoft’s quality standards, is reliable and accurate, and is appropriate for the scale of the product feature.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with SAP BASIS experience with ECC and S4 HANA experiences

  • OR equivalent experience

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with designing Source to Pay Solutions for Large Scale Global Enterprises with large high-volume services, with service-oriented development and cloud-based systems.

  • Experience in working on Source to Pay domain

  • Professional Training and Certification: SAP Materials Management

  • Implemented Materials Management with S/4 HANA.

  • Experience in implementation of ARIBA Source to Pay solutions.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
