Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) team delivers high quality servicing experiences to keep Microsoft customers protected and productive by continuously building and delivering Windows Operating System updates to consumer, enterprise and Microsoft Cloud customers.

The candidate is a technical leader, a great coach who can bring the best of a very talented group of technical and passionate people across the globe. Is able to attract, develop, and grow talent through empathy and clear accountability. A leader that is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, making decisions, and defining clear measurements that enable continuous learning.

You will lead from the front in this role, building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, product engineering, security organizations, and a broad set of internal Microsoft partners that rely on your at-scale service to maximize their business goals. You will bring objectivity, professionalism, and customer empathy, prioritizing and providing customer requirements with teams during times of calm and crisis.


This role will lead a team of Program Managers that in partnership with Software Engineers are responsible for:

  • Be a leader of a team of high-performing Program Managers, fostering a diverse and inclusive, results-driven team culture of engagement, growth, empowerment, and excitement

  • Servicing Windows components delivering security and quality updates for 1B+ devices and millions of servers every Patch Tuesday. Focus areas include components such as Security, Enterprise Management, Fundamentals and Licensing among others

  • Driving performance and reliability monitoring capabilities to servicing payload to improve customer experience

  • Lead engineering efforts to enable Extended Security Update program to continue support Security Updates via Licensing mechanisms.

  • Manage schedules, risks, and issues with effective communication to the team, to senior management and company executives, and partners inside and outside Microsoft

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior executives at Microsoft, other leaders from product engineering, security services, and other business units to ensure a shared sense of success.


Qualifications & traits we seek in the candidate:

Required Qualification:

  • 10+ recent years of Program Management leadership experience, including a proven record of solid partnership with engineering teams, cross-division business leaders, and leveraging productive relationships to develop and increase efficiencies while improving partner customer satisfaction and business outcomes.

  • 5+ recent years of experience in building, leading, and supporting high-performing and globally distributed teams.

  • 5+ years of experience in leading and operating at scale business critical global services.


  • Experience developing/launching products/technologies within one or more of the following: Cloud, Enterprise, internal systems

  • Experience in leading cyber security, defense-in-depth efforts to increase security of software programs

  • Experience with Windows Internals and key technologies such as security, management, licensing

  • Technically and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization, from engineers to executives.

  • High situational awareness and emotional intelligence coupled with excellent networking and interpersonal skills for collaborating across multiple organizations, teams, and professional levels.

  • Biased for action and influence across non-direct reporting teams.

  • Experience leading and executing simultaneous projects in a complex organizational environment.

  • Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact, communications ranging from whitepapers to team wide presentations to emails.
