We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to broaden our efforts on our personalized content feed which informs, entertains, and inspires our customers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deeply integrate content experiences in strategic consumer Microsoft products and services including Windows, Edge, Office and more, bringing value to customers across the ecosystem and building daily habit with our products. You will help deliver a world-class content experience that takes into consideration implicit and explicit signals powered by Machine Learning (ML) models, big data, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques including Chat GPT.

In this role, as Principal Product Manager, we will build strategic partnerships across organizations at Microsoft to deliver user value and drive growth. You will work closely with designers, engineers, scientists, user research and broader cross-org teams across Windows and Web Experiences (WWE) and Microsoft teams to build a plan and roadmap to evolve the experience and support our partners. You will drive qualitative (customer feedback, user research, academic research) and quantitative data analysis to drive immediate and long-term improvements (data, relevance, User Experience (UX), measurement) to both existing experiences and opportunities for the future. You will also rely on your experience in enhancing existing UX & platform solutions at scale to be adopted by multiple products and teams across Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Understand current user needs and gaps by conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis

  • Proactively identify and manage scenario backlog, including ensuring partner dependencies are delivered in a timely fashion

  • Partner with the developer team on performance, trade-offs, engineering challenges, and prioritization

  • Define and drive A/B experimentation plans that ensure statistically meaningful conclusions are reached

  • Partner with key internal and external partners to develop joint product plans, gather feedback, manage dependencies, and ensure customer success

  • Keep pace with emerging standards in your feature area, and leverage learnings to improve our future product roadmap across desktop, mobile, and app categories

  • Own your feature backlog with clarity, urgency, and accountability

  • Actively drive and present product plans and reviews, demos, and competitive analyses with the team, partners, and executive leadership

Qualifications

*Required Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with using data, analytics, and/or metrics.

*Preferred Qualifications: *

  • Experience with end-user facing products and services, focus on UX.

  • Experience with data analysis experience with Excel, PowerBI, SQR, R, Python/Pandas, or other tools.

  • MS or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in building large scale solutions.

  • Project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills.

  • Proficient written and verbal communication/presentation skills through all levels of organization, technical and non-technical.

  • Analytical aptitude and track record of problem solving and ability to think strategically.

  • Experience with A/B testing is a plus.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
