The Azure Digital Operations Data experiences team is focused on helping organizations across multiple industries transform their physical operations through data and insights cultivated from operational data capabilities across edge and cloud alongside Artificial Intelligence (AI) and analytics in the Microsoft Cloud.

We are building a new data product and we are looking for a Principal Product Manager (people manager) who can lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our AI investments

Responsibilities

As a Principal Product Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining and driving the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Digital Operations Data experiences Data & AI capabilities and applications, based on the Microsoft AI principles and best practices.

  • Collaborating with engineering, research, design, and business teams to deliver AI solutions that leverage the Microsoft Fabric platform capabilities, such as data ingestion, data transformation, data visualization, machine learning, Copilot and AI model management.

  • Engaging with customers, partners, and industry experts to understand the market trends, opportunities, and challenges in industrial data analytics.

  • Conducting market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback to validate and prioritize product features and requirements, and to align them with the product vision and strategy.

  • Managing the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, ensuring quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction, and adhering to the Microsoft Fabric development processes and standards.

  • Communicating and presenting the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, customers, and partners, using clear and compelling narratives and data-driven insights.

  • Managing, growing and coaching a team of product managers and hiring new team members.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or related roles in the AI, cloud or industrial domains

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience.

  • 5+ years of experience of leading, shipping and delivering complex and innovative Data & AI solutions that create value for customers and stakeholders, using Microsoft AI or similar technologies.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand the fundamentals of machine learning, deep learning, large language models, natural language processing, computer vision, and other AI techniques, as well as their strengths and limitations.

  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and biases of AI products or features and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills (including with data scientists and engineers), with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams and senior executives.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related fields.

  • Deep customer empathy in industrial / manufacturing segments with demonstrated hands-on experience delivering digital transformation solutions for customers in manufacturing, retail, healthcare, energy, supply chain, or other operationally intensive segments.

  • Ability to use data analysis, visualization, and experimentation tools to monitor and improve the performance and user experience of AI products or features and define success metrics and evaluation criteria.

  • Proven problem solver that will easily adapt and deal with high ambiguous situations.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and agility to adapt in changing environments.

Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
