We are building the products and offers in Azure that allow customers to bring their workloads and estates and consume cloud without compromises on performance and capability across their hybrid platform. In this specific role, you will work as part of the Azure VMware Solution team (AVS) that specializes in building the solution that brings VMware estates to the Azure cloud.

The AVS team is looking for a Principal Product Manager who has a proven track record of managing a complex product portfolio and defining products across hardware and experiences. The successful candidate will build a compelling customer-centric vision for the future of the AVS service, drive the product management aspects driving its growth and adoption and galvanize teams to execute across engineering, infrastructure, marketing, and sales disciplines.

As a Principal Product Manager, you will balance our in-market product health and performance with the development of our long-term product vision and roadmap. You will own both the roadmap and product for our business. You will carry the product roadmap from concept to prototype to implementation. In this specific role, you will also be responsible to support our largest high-value customers with architecture design and work across AS&E products to build integration between our solutions (Ex: AVS and Oracle integration). Candidates will have a solid track record of managing and shipping products in a leading edge, evolving, and ambiguous environment. Expectations include effective written and oral communication skills, great cross-functional project management capabilities, and experience at the forefront of technology.

  • Be at the heart of defining, organizing, and driving our overall strategy for current and future Azure solutions and ecosystems.

  • Work with Azure best technology partners to offer up their value to Azure customers.

  • Work across Azure Core to integrate advanced technologies to define our products and manage a roadmap.

  • Drive a culture of innovation and experimentation throughout the team. You will have the opportunity to work inside and outside Microsoft to develop solutions that bring our partner’s technology to the Azure cloud. This will require deep product management knowledge as well as technical program management for multiple architectures and different partners.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 6+ years experience with a full shipping cycle of Enterprise focused products.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Enthusiastic, attention to detail, results oriented, organized, motivated and self-driven.

  • Drive to innovate and solve complex problems while retaining focus on maintaining a profitable business.

Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
