Microsoft Corporation Principal Manager, Program Management in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) team is looking for a Principal Manager, Program Management to lead and grow a diverse and distributed team program managers driving Microsoft’s security research incentives and security data sharing partnerships to help secure customers. The team's portfolio of programs includes vulnerability intelligence sharing to empower hundreds of security vendors beyond Microsoft, the company-wide bug bounty to drive high impact external security research with thousands of researchers around the world, and leading the delivery CVEs to billions of customers on Patch Tuesday.

Responsibilities

•Develop, implement, and iterate on the strategy and goals for Microsoft's security research incentives, vulnerability intelligence sharing, and security release data programs.

•Partner with stakeholders across the company to drive operational excellence.

•Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing security team, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.

•Lead continual process improvement synthesizing performance data and researcher, partner, and customer data to drive decision making.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience.

  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements as these are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

o OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience.

  • 8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

  • Working knowledge and/or eagerness to learn security concepts like bug bounty, coordinated vulnerability disclosure(CVD), common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVE), and common vulnerability scoring systems (CVSS), industry standards and collaboration organizations like CVE.org, FIRST.org or OpenSSF.

Technical Program Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
