As a Principal Consultant, you will be able to leverage your deep technical skills and lead teams to architect, implement, deploy and optimize enterprise projects in Azure that could be massive in scale. You will provide technical leadership for other consultants and in the broader technical community.

You will be working with customers, partners, and other Microsoft team members to drive significant outcomes. You should be proficient in leading consulting engagements, writing technical and non-technical communications, and documentation. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 to 10 years relevant industry experience and at least 5 years working with cloud environments, providing solution architecture and consulting services.
Ideal candidates will have successfully designed and deployed private, public and/or hybrid cloud solutions. Demonstrated effective teamwork across large, diverse solution delivery teams. Additional expertise required is datacenter virtualization and management experience. An understanding of core networking, storage, compute and security concepts is key.
Demonstrable ability to harvest and/or re-use IP on customer projects. Experience giving presentations to technical and executive audiences, explaining cloud infrastructure solution concepts and benefits. Core Microsoft cloud infrastructure skills required: Microsoft Azure, Windows Server Hyper-V, Windows Azure Pack/Azure Stack, Azure Site Recovery, Microsoft Windows Server.
The successful candidate will possess some or all the following skills:
Ability to lead a high-impact delivery team and to expertly represent Microsoft in challenging customer environments.
Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate with internal partners, customer managers and executives on technical and business issues.
You should be able to manage multiple complex engagements, effectively manage ambiguity, and resolve problems with customer designs and solutions
Additionally, the successful candidate will possess some of the following skills:
Production workload migrations to the cloud/Azure, Azure Dev/Test environment infrastructure design and implementation. Container technologies (Docker, Azure, Kubernetes, etc.) Microsoft System Center components (including Virtual Machine Manager, Operations Manager, Service Manager, Orchestrator, etc.) Knowledge of private, public and hybrid cloud configurations, patterns, and practices. Working knowledge of scripting and automation technologies (PowerShell, Orchestrator runbook development, Azure automation, DSC, etc.) Knowledge/awareness of non-Microsoft cloud technologies. Understanding of DevOps, ITIL and MOF operational processes.
Azure and Industry Cloud certifications a plus.
The successful candidate will have a BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
Travel is an integral expectation of this position and is dictated by the needs of our customers and our business. Overnight travel requirements may vary based on the needs of our customers and our business but can be as high as 75%.
