As a Principal Architect in the Azure Experiences and Architecture team, you will have the opportunity to navigate all layers of the Azure stack. Your responsibilities will encompass designing and implementing distributed cloud services and libraries adhering to security best practices, collaborating with teams across the Azure service ecosystem to improve build-out efficiency, building and integrating enhancements to Azure DevOps, and performing architecture reviews. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop prototype and production-grade solutions to support secure, efficient cloud build-out

  • Design and develop prototype and production-grade solutions for secure software supply chain management and efficiency

  • Leverage a broad and current understanding of security to devise new protections across the Azure stack

  • Collaborate with Azure service teams to improve build-out efficiency and improve overall security state of Azure services

  • Act as mentor and leader for other architect staff

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience with cloud-scale build-out in complex software environments

  • 3+ years of professional experience in threat modeling and secure development tools and practices

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science orrelated technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with software development in cloud environments in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Go or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Go or Python

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in building and owning large-scale high-performance infrastructure powering distributed systems

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
