Microsoft Corporation Portfolio Functional Cost Manager in Redmond, Washington
Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our cloud infrastructure; and all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure. The Cost Management team is a pillar within the CO+I Global Project Controls (GPC) team and serve as trusted advisors to the Data Center delivery teams, finance and senior leadership. The Cost team is looking for a Portfolio Functional Cost Manager to to support the global cost function. This role will work on program and process development, drive the implementation of new requirements, and monitor and maintain existing processes. Key responsibilities include collaborating with senior leadership, internal teams, and external stakeholders to drive performance improvements, identifying and resolving potential risks, and maintaining global compliance standards.
This role is located either in one or all hub locations: Atlanta, GA, Phoenix, AZ, Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX, or Washington, DC. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities
Support all business management of the global cost management team
Lead funding presentations to leadership including the collation of artifacts from multiple teams, QA/QC inputs, completion of decks for final submission
Facilitate portfolio reporting at global and leadership levels
Deliver timely and insightful data for Leadership reporting while offering valuable insights for strategic decision-making
Provide meaningful support for annual capital planning by conducting analysis of historical data, project costs, and resource allocation
Develop, maintain and advocate the use of interactive dashboards that provide real-time insights into construction project data
Application of analytical techniques to conduct data analysis on diverse construction related data
Work collectively with partner teams within Project Controls & Construction to enhance data-driven decision making and align efforts to drive improved project and portfolio performance
Implementation of predictive analytics by using historical data to predict and analyze what will happen in the future
Accept responsibility for managing substantial volumes of construction-related data and ensuring data integrity
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience
OR equivalent experience.
Experience applying analytical techniques to conduct data analysis on diverse construction related data
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years experience working on data center projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years related experience
OR equivalent experience.
2+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Applied understanding of project controls principles combining cost and schedule impacts to projects, cost management, estimating, scheduling and change control.
Advanced experience with production applications such as MS Office (Specifically Excel), SharePoint, Visio, & Power BI
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal.
Team player, self-driven and good in high pressure situations.
Construction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
