MICROSOFT CORP NPI Product Engineering in Redmond, Washington
Job Description: Create, align, and execute sourcing and category strategies to continuously re-evaluate and optimize Microsoft's enterprise-wide logistical functions or supply chain. Assess engineering capabilities and define requirements for production data collection. Define or validate methods used by manufacturing partners to diagnose and recover faulty devices and ensure repair. Identify, prioritize, articulate, and resolve challenges related to product launch. Drive efforts to define and develop rework and repair strategies for production. Confirm root cause analysis in product development and launch phase for new products and develop corrective actions to enable engineering launch builds. Plan product launches from inception through hand-off and sustainment, and collaborate with stakeholders regarding technical leadership, program risk mitigation, and new product introduction planning. May research, design, develop, test, or monitor the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, systems, or computer and computer-related equipment that impacts new product introduction. May contribute to design, integration, or improvement of manufacturing systems or related processes that impact product designs, increase producibility, and decrease costs. Telecommute work permitted less than 50% per week within the same geographic area as assigned Microsoft office location.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Master's Degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Hardware Engineering, IT, or related field,
Experience: Three (3) years of developing, analyzing, and/or performing failure analysis on computer hardware or other equivalently complex microelectronics.
Special Skill Requirement: This position requires 24 months of experience in: Microprocessor Architecture and Programming; Hardware Testing; Electrical Failure Analysis; Signal characterization using oscilloscope and/or multimeter; Design Verification; 6 months of experience in Statistical Analysis/JMP; and education or experience in Electrical CAD.

Pay Range and Benefits Information: The offered base pay range for this specific position (Job Code: TSCBH18239), based in Redmond, Washington, is $148,100 to $178,100.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
