As our Starlink satellite constellation expands, there are new opportunities in work for Starlink customer adoption for the purpose of scientific research, national security, and commercial applications. We are growing our team to support this expansion of services and to embed mission support directly in Redmond, WA where our satellites are designed and assembled.As a member of our Mission Management team, you will serve as a core point of contact for customers from early capabilities studies through successful project activation. You'll support new business proposals from initial requirements verification through mission design, prototype development, and test. You'll work directly with a small team of subject matter experts from diverse fields to quickly iterate on deployable solutions and ensure they meet all customer needs. Our development timelines are aggressive and you will be asked to rigorously explore solutions for previously unsolved problems. Our ideal candidate has a passion for making things work, is a highly detail-oriented self-starter, and is hungry to do work that matters.RESPONSIBILITIES:Distill customer requirements into actionable development objectivesCollaborate with other subsystem representatives across team boundaries to consider all necessary trades and ensure end-to-end mission successSupport all phases of development from initial proposal development through successful test, demonstration, and operationsWork with all internal and external stakeholders, using excellent written and verbal communication to negotiate technical deliverables and scope, drive prototype development, and clearly define success objectivesAssist with the creation and maintenance of project master schedules and regularly report modifications to customerHelp lead all customer reviews and ensure that contract deliverables are delivered on time and per the customer's expectationBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in technical field (engineering, physics, computer science) with a minimum of 7 years of industry experience4+ years of technical project management experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: The Starlink Mission Management team is comprised of individuals with diverse skills and experience in order to support the large variety of customer applications. Candidates with experience in at least one of the following areas are preferred. Each program has new challenges and opportunities to learn more.Experience working with government customers or entitiesKnowledge of satellite communication technologies and terrestrial networkingKnowledge of networking systems and connectivity:Network connectivity, services, and protocols (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, NAT, NTP, etc.)Security models and network protocol analysisKnowledge of communication systems:Wireless multiple access schemes (TDMA, CDMA, OFDMA, etc.)Digital communication systems, spread spectrum, single and multi-carrier techniques and modulation types (QPSK, APSK, QAM, etc.)System link budgets and analysis related to communication systemsExperience in mobile communication applicationsAbility to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphereADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shiftsMust be willing to travel to other SpaceX offices and customer locations as neededITAR R
