People Bloom Counseling Mental Health Counselor in Redmond, Washington

Provide mental health counseling services with a focus on helping individuals struggling with mental health disorders and cultural identities through in-person and telehealth counseling.

Duties: meet with individual patients and provide counseling using evidence based practices (25 or more clinical hours per week); diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and challenges around life transitions and acculturation; work with clients to understand and address the sources of mental health disorders; coordinate treatment with other professionals, such as primary care physicians, psychiatrists, therapists and social workers; refer clients to other resources or services in the community, such as support groups or inpatient/outpatient treatment facilities; participate in community outreach and conduct community workshops on selected mental health topics; attend staff and consultation meetings and designated training events; participate in professional training and conferences to stay abreast of developments in the field; complete designated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner; comply with all laws, rules, regulations, and code of ethics governing the counseling profession.

Requires a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or related behavioral science field. Requires 2 years of experience as Mental Health Counselor or Mental Health Therapist. Experience must include: a) completing mental health assessments and diagnostic interviews; b) developing treatment plans based on client history and socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds using different treatment modalities; c) conducting individual therapysessions and maintaining regular progress notes; d) contacting and referring clients to off-site assessments, psychiatriccare and other relevant services on an as-needed basis; and e) attending weekly consultation, regular staff meetings,and training workshops. Must hold an active, unrestricted license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington.
