​​As a Mechanical Engineer at Microsoft, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, modify, and evaluate mechanical systems and equipment, including defining design approaches and parameters. Additionally, you will utilize predictive modeling techniques to inform design choices and select materials and components based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Responsibilities

  • ​​Interpret common details from specification sheets for testing and develop drawings for well-defined product features. Develop an understanding of predictive modeling and ensure test requirements are documented.

  • ​​Carry out testing on standard features or products and coordinate external testing. With minimal direction, you’ll identify design flaws using basic data analysis and validate features by helping build prototypes.

  • ​​Follow a project schedule to deliver the hardware engineering aspects of a feature or product. You’ll also choose appropriate parts and evaluate the essential details of materials and techniques used in production.

  • ​​Work to implement risk assessments, communicate team progress, and create detailed reports for features or extensions.

  • ​​Responsible Document essential details about materials, components, and assemblies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • ​​Bachelor's Degree (or currently pursuing) in Mechanical Engineering, or related field

  • ​​OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years related technical engineering experience

  • OR Master's Degree (or currently pursuing a Master’s Degree) in Mechanical Engineering, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Mechanical Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
