INTEGRATION & TEST ENGINEER (OPTOMECHANICAL) As an Optomechanical Integration & Test Engineer on the Space Lasers team, you will be responsible for developing and operating complex test equipment to validate the Space Lasers systems. This will include qualifying and acceptance testing of optical systems, high-precision actuators, and integrated system-level testing. On a daily basis, you can expect to be driving the business outcome of a project that will directly tie into the success of the Space Lasers program. Depending on the status of a project this could entail test design, operation, data processing, and or root cause investigative work. You will work with responsible engineers, software engineers, and production team members to achieve positive outcomes for the space lasers team. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to understand and drive requirements for production and development testing of highly complex spaceflight hardware Design and automate test systems for development, qualification, and production testing Evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and manage integration build flow and test operations Drive validation testing, including performance characterization, lot acceptance testing, and reliability testing of flight hardware Evaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline 2+ years of hands-on laboratory or work experience in optics, photonics, laser technology, or precision mechanical design or testing (university lab, student project, or internship experience qualifies) PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in an engineering discipline Experience working in a laboratory or production setting requiring hands-on work, attention to detail, and high regard for safety Experience with optical test equipment (power meters, interferometers, laser sources, etc.) Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems Documentation and configuration management experience Experience writing test plans, and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred) Proficiency with Python or other programming language Experience working effectively across multi-disciplinary teams Desire to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed, up to 10% Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Integration & Test Engineer/Level I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year Integration & Test Engineer/Level II: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00/per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
