The Manufacturing & Mobility Industry Team (M&M) , part of the Worldwide Industry Partner Sales organization, is accountable for leveraging deep industry and technical expertise to enable sales teams and partners to deliver relevant industry solutions and services, built on a secure, integrated cloud platform, to empower our customers to digitally transform their businesses. The Industry Solutions Director, - Artificial Intelligence will define and shape the industry strategy portfolio of Manufacturing and Mobility Services solutions and build on the deep partnerships that empower digital transformation across the industry. They will ensure that Microsoft customers are well-positioned for success in a rapidly changing business and technology environment.

Responsibilities

In this role, the Industry Solution Director will lead the development, validation, and GTM execution of AI across our M&M portfolio, including solution components and sales materials. A successful candidate will have a balance of big-picture thinking and attention to detail. Candidates should have experience managing and delivering complex programs, able to influence both internally and externally, and collaborate across multiple organizations that are outside of your direct control. The role requires discipline to consistently engage Field sales, Marketing, Partners, and various product groups to drive the GTM of our solutions, involve our partnerships, and secure strategic customer deals.  

The individual in this role should have deep Manufacturing & Mobility industry experience, strategic thinking, customer focus, a passion for innovation and best-practice sharing, all while showing they can produce outstanding results over time. Critical skills include the ability to spot new market opportunities; communicate business value and outcomes; and build strategies to capture the market needs. The role will drive a deep understanding of customer business problems, context, challenges and strategic direction (both with the customer, and within the industry the customer operates), as well as have an understanding of the partner ecosystem relevant to industry solutions and local markets. This individual will be a virtual leader, able to build relationships with our customer's senior management and work across their functional teams. We are looking for a results-oriented, data-driven decision maker who likes creating from scratch, experimenting, setting high standards, and working in collaboration with Lighthouse customers & partners to test our solutions. You will have a high level of ownership, and are an excellent communicator, who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.

Primary accountabilities for this role include: 

  • Work closely with Microsoft’s M&M Industry solution leaders, Industry Chief Technology Officer, Industry Regional Business Leaders (RBL), Industry Advisors (IA), and regional Microsoft sales teams to land AI-enabled solutions

  • Work with the Microsoft partner ecosystem and teams to identify strategic & market moving as well as next generation Microsoft partners that enable priority scenarios.  

  • Develop a clear GTM and execution plan for the priority scenarios across sales, partners, marketing and engineering.

  • Think in terms of transformation and innovation that drives real industry change.  

  • Be a leading M&M subject matter expert within the Worldwide Industry Team.  

  • Have a deep knowledge of our competitive differentiation.  

  • Drive executive conversations further expanding and deepening client relationships and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years' experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years' experience in in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience and understanding of AI and data enabled solutions in the end-to-end manufacturing and mobility value chains – and the value / cost drivers that can drive the industry.

  • 10+ years’ experience of multi-disciplinary, hands-on industry experience in industry solution design, development, and go-to-market across marketing, sales and partner ecosystems.

  • 10+ years’ experience as a senior industry solution sales or consulting position in a competing, partner, or IT company

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 7+ years marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.
