Amazon HW Dev Engineer - Antenna Systems, Customer Terminal Modem Hardware in Redmond, Washington

Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Key job responsibilities

As a Hardware Engineer, you will be a part of the team working on the development of advanced Customer Terminal products. You will own or contribute to the following:

Design high-speed digital and/or RF circuitry in collaboration with various teams

Design and optimization of different blocks of electronics sub-systems

Schematic capture and lead PCB layout

Design DC/DC power supply and Point of Load

Support flow-down requirement definitions and generate test plans/procedures

Board bring-up and perform test campaigns of modules and subsystems

Support design of automated test systems, test fixtures and factory test

Support the transition of the designs to mass production

A day in the life

As a Hardware Development Engineer on the Antenna Team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative, challenging, and exciting phased array projects in industry right now. You will engage with an experienced team to conceive and design terminals aimed at delighting customers with affordable, reliable, high bandwidth connectivity. You will work closely with Project Kuiper’s various sub-teams and engage third party suppliers to drive product definition, design, optimization, implementation, and test. Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
