Microsoft for Startups is looking for an experienced, energetic business development expert to help lead and grow our Go to Market operations with startups globally as Head of Success Management, Microsoft for Startups.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping startups grow, deeply familiar with business development processes and marketing within Microsoft, passionate about the startup community, and interested in taking advantage of Microsoft’s resources to empower and grow a healthy, diverse and innovative startup ecosystem

As Head of Success Management you and your team will work closely with later stage startup companies to help them achieve commercial success and accelerate their growth with Microsoft in market. You will be responsible for managing the global portfolio of Microsoft for Startups co-sell ready companies, ensuring we have clear processes across all our key regions.


  • Be the Go-To-Market lead for Co-sell Ready startup activity globally

  • Build and execute partner go to market (GTM) plans by partnering with OCP and MSFT field partners to deliver Azure growth, with a clear focus on standardizing and building efficient processes wherever possible

  • Evangelize GTM activity for all portfolio startups globally

  • Ensure that execution plans are in place across all regions for co-marketing programs with regional partner teams

  • Drive business performance measured by revenue (Co-sell pipeline, wins, and Azure usage & consumption)

  • Evangelize partner solutions with the Microsoft sales teams to foster dedicated engagement with Channel Management and Field Seller’s Review pipeline to drive sales opportunity velocity

  • Handle co-sell pipeline in Partner Sales Connect/MSX

  • Prepare the portfolio startups for a deeper integration with Microsoft, including more formalized sales, marketing and product channels

  • Be the trusted advisor to the partner and provide feedback on areas to improve partnership

This is a high energy fast paced team, you’ll need to have:

  • Significant experience in marketing (GTM development), business development, partner management and/or sales

  • Proven success in leading teams to develop GTM plans and business development plans with early stage companies and transforming them into execution

  • Proven record of growing new businesses and building business relationships with senior levels within partner organizations

  • Previous experience in cloud technology sales and development and/or experience in an entrepreneurial or startup environment is a strong plus

  • Strong networking capabilities between Microsoft and our strategic partners, as well as a demonstrable network across the emerging technology ecosystem

  • Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and follow through capabilities
