Our client is seeking a Lab Technician, Hardware to join their team.

Job Title: Lab Technician, Hardware

Location: Redmond, WA

Pay Range: $52/hr. - $55/hr.

What’s the Job?

Summary: The main function of “Lab Technician, Hardware 3" is to support the testing and development of computer-related equipment for datacenter applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute tests on data center compute and cooling hardware.

  • Assemble and modify existing pieces of equipment to meet special needs.

  • Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.

  • Monitor the functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure the system operates in conformance with specifications.

  • Confer with engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.

  • Provide training and support to system designers and users.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

    1. Minimum 5-7years experience with VNA Measurement experience
    1. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience with Hardware/Data Center Experience
    1. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience with Ability to assemble hardware and solder hardware.
  • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain Execute Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements on test boards and engineering validation boards for the validation of interconnect performance experience then they would be the preferred candidate and Data center/Hardware Experience.

Basic Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.

  • Team player and detail oriented.

  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience working with datacenter computer hardware - such as servers, network switches, power delivery units, etc.

  • Experience executing and modifying scripts for computing hardware testing, including scripting tools such as Python, CLI, SSH, Redfish, Postman, etc.

  • Experience working with UNIX or Linux based operating systems.

  • Experience reworking computer circuit boards - i.e. soldering components onto printed circuit boards.

  • Experience with electronics test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, DVMs, emulators, etc.

  • Experience with server cooling equipment, including air cooling, liquid cooling, and immersion cooling.

The client is interested in candidates that have data center liquid cooling experience (not biomedical perspective)

Education/Experience:

  • Two- or four-year technical degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years of industry experience required.
