Contributes to execution of Microsoft strategies and/or programs related to government affairs. Conducts legal, policy, technology, and other research to support the strategies of the team. Coordinates discussions across team and wider stakeholders. Assists in the gathering of data and intelligence information to support the preparation of position papers, policy briefings, presentations, and legislative testimony for legislative action. Stays up to date on issues relating to public policy and/or geo-political topics. Conducts research to advance Microsoft policy and/or political agenda. Participates in and coordinates intra-group and/or cross-group projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts legal, policy, technology, and other research to support the strategies of the team; coordinates budget of team and supports logistical issues.

  • Stays up to date on issues relating to public policy and/or geo-political topics

  • Assists in the gathering of data and intelligence information to support the preparation of position papers, policy briefings, presentations, and legislative testimony for legislative action.

  • Summarizing and analyzing policy proposals.

  • Builds and maintains relationships on behalf of Microsoft at relevant external events and/or partners with leaders to drive relationships with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Technology, Law, Liberal Arts, Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) work experience in government affairs, corporate affairs, public policy, government, or related area

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • OR Currently Pursuing.

Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship

The base pay range for this internship is USD $4,460 - $9,000 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $5,970 - $9,880 per month.
