Microsoft Corporation Global Events Business Operations Lead in Redmond, Washington

Come be part of the  Global Marketing Events team * within the Microsoft  *Commercial Cloud and AI Marketing team, an energetic group that is focused on developing global event marketing programs to engage business leaders and technical audiences across our commercial portfolio: Azure, Security, Modern Work, and Business Applications. The team works in close partnership with our corporate marketing and field marketing teams to build and execute marketing events around the world.  

We are hiring for a Global Events Business Operations * Lead * to manage operations for the global events and planning team inclusive of managing a rhythm of business (ROB), strategic business planning process, maintain an always on planning motion, and leading budget management efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Planning , Comms, and B usiness ROB: You will work across a complex set of stakeholders in other organizations to collectively design a planning process and Rhythm of Business (ROB) that meets the needs of the business. This work will include associated broad comms and coordination with across businesses. From the details of templates and workbacks, to the strategy of executive landing and investments, you will need to be able to operate at multiple levels across various projects.

  • Budget Management: Partner with Finance and across various event execution teams to build and manage a budget view across Microsoft event types, inclusive of first party and third party events. This budget view will span across event execution teams, and will help to build a shared understanding of event investments.

  • Monthly Business Reviews: Develop executive commercial event marketing performance reviews. Working across stakeholders from many parts of the business, you will drive alignment across key metrics, ensure executive storytelling with actionable insights, and seek out cross business learnings.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Understanding, or experience managing, budget and working with Finance teams.

  • Experience as skilled communicator, ability to perform well in a team environment and manage multiple deadline-driven projects.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 2+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience working with regional or field marketing teams.

  • Experience in software, cloud computing, or related industries.

  • Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metric analytics, and ability to generate, analyze and interpret data.

Integrated Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
