Firmware Engineer

ONSITE, Redmond WA

6 – 18 Months Contract

Pay Range: $55/hr. - $60/hr .

Summary: The Firmware Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining business and computer applications software, including mainframe and client/server applications. The role also involves major enhancements of existing systems.

Top 3 Hard Skills Required:

  1. Strong C/C++ in an embedded environment - 5-7 years of experience.

  2. Embedded development skills for TI MCUs or similar , with deep experience in I2C, SPI, and other serial interconnects, along with expertise in one or more subsystems: Audio, Wi-Fi, BLE.

  3. Experience with IAR, GCC, Kiel, or other embedded development environments .

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop embedded systems using TI MCUs or similar platforms, with a focus on I2C, SPI, and other serial interconnects, and one or more subsystems: Audio, Wi Fi, BLE.

  • Utilize IAR, GCC, Kiel, or other embedded development environments effectively.

  • Work with Az DevOps, Jenkins, JIRA, or other cloud-based DevOps build systems.

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills through writing and editing specifications, participating in code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Contribute to industry specification bodies and open-source projects.

  • Update JIRA/Az DevOps issues daily to indicate progress.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in C/C++ in an embedded environment is essential.

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.

  • 5-7 years of experience in embedded systems development.

  • Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

  • Experience with large systems software design and development.

  • Proven ability in in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing for both new and legacy production systems.
