The Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help shape the future of our cloud products.
The team’s charter is to build out end to end Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve both profit and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team you’ll also support long term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition. All while enhancing transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments, safeguarding shareholder interest.
The MSIO - Infrastructure Finance team provides financial leadership and transparency across Microsoft’s cloud supply chain, DC and networking infrastructure businesses, enabling end to end cloud planning and strategy.
We are looking for a Finance Manager who will work closely with leaders in engineering, planning, sourcing and operations to oversee decision support for our server supply chain. This is a rare finance opportunity to gain broad visibility into the operational and business aspects of Microsoft’s cloud business and contribute towards its success
This role is a great opportunity to:
Perform FP&A Close / Forecast / Budget / LRP for Capex and spares spend
Develop rolling forecast model with operations to improve accuracy on spares
Design spare's getrics to drive operational efficiency
Ad hoc analysis and KPI and financial metrics to business for decision making
Enhance transparency into end to end cloud infrastructure and operations costs to drive accountability
Continuous learning of Microsoft Cloud services, infrastructure, operations, go-to-market, and long-term cloud economics
Our team values the following set of skills, which this role will help you enhance:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or related field, MBA or equivalent work experience to a MBA program preferred.
3+ years of relevant experience in financial planning & analysis with experience in data cubes and BI reporting. Experience in data center infrastructure a plus.
Proven advanced Excel skills
Prior project management experience and strong leadership skills is a plus
Thorough and detailed oriented
Comfortable handling ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at fast pace
Excellent written and verbal communications
Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritize as needed
Strong partnering capabilities, collaborative and inclusive when working with others
