Amazon Finance Manager - Marketing, Project Kuiper in Redmond, Washington

Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world?

It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Finance Manager to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls to help our business go to market and scale.

As a Finance Leader, you will be responsible for defining and driving key processes initiatives and critical analytical assessment. You will work closely with product, marketing and creative teams to create a marketing and acquisition strategy for Project Kuiper across multiple geographies, customer segments and channels. You will work to implement metrics and reporting to track our progress against these strategic goals and refine our plans as we grow.

The successful candidate will need to be strategic, analytical, and have the demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a start up like environment. Experience in finance roles related to customer acquisition and marketing measurement would be beneficial in this role.

Success in this role requires you to partner with and influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. You will collaborate with all types of stakeholders, from other Finance Managers, to Program/Project Managers, to Executives, across multiple business units within Amazon. You bring best-in-class business partnership while providing strong controllership. You are comfortable leading analysis projects with high ambiguity, creating a robust process to track and manage the spending needs, presenting to business owners during reviews, and can pivot between the defined financial rhythms and ad-hoc project analyses. You are comfortable pushing back to business partners, and help to develop your teammates and the overall Kuiper organization. You use judgment to prioritize high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, while helping to solve complex problems that affect company-wide decisions.

Key job responsibilities

-Act as the dedicated finance support for the Kuiper Marketing and Creative team, partnering with them to identify strategies and measure efficacy

  • Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to interpret data, draw conclusions, and make investment recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon. These decisions can have global impacts to the Kuiper business.

  • Creates effective business partnerships, manages competing priorities, and provides operation and investment guidance to the business partners based on data analysis and valuation results.

  • Deliver high quality monthly/quarterly financial summaries and forecasts

  • Build a scalable, sustainable tracking mechanisms across business teams collaborating with finance and business stakeholders.

  • Uses financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets. Outputs plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
