The Microsoft Cloud Network Infrastructure finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a Finance Manager to help shape the future of our cloud products.

The team’s charter is to build out Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure while driving down unit cost of capacity, ensuring cloud services achieve gross margin growth and share expansion. As a crucial member of the team, you’ll also support long-term bets and drive market intelligence to keep ahead of competition.

The Cloud Network Infrastructure finance team is seeking a Finance Manager - CAPEX /Cloud and Artificial Intellegince to partner with Cloud Operations & Innovation and Azure Networking, providing financial leadership across Microsoft’s cloud supply chain as we supply fiber across our data center fleet to enable our customers to achieve more.

Responsibilities

  • Business partnership: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Interconnection, Planning & Acquisition, Networking, and Finance, to forecast and plan network fiber inventory requirements based on business demand and growth projections.

  • Finance rhythms of business: Facilitate orchestrating budget, forecasts, Long Range Planning (LRP), monthly close, workforce planning, and resource allocation assessment in alignment with corporate and Margin Strategy & Investment Optimization (MSIO) timelines. Communicate required deliverables clearly and facilitate reviews with leaders in a timely manner.

  • Financial analysis: Lead the analysis of inventory data, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and process enhancements. Drive inventory accuracy and integrity through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities, ensuring alignment with financial records and identifying and resolving discrepancies. Provide analysis and simulation to support strategic initiatives focused on inventory strategy.

  • Controls and compliance: Ensure monthly financial results are stated accurately and in accordance with company policies. Ensure adequate internal controls are in place.

  • Process improvement: Continuously improve processes to drive automation, efficiency, prioritization, and cross team collaboration.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field

  • OR equivalent experience

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Prior project management experience and leadership skills

  • Thorough and detailed oriented

  • Comfortable handling ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at a fast pace

  • Written and verbal communications

  • Able to manage multiple work streams and prioritize as needed

  • Proficient partnering capabilities, collaborative and inclusive when working with others

  • Proficient financial modeling and presentation skills

Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.
