As the newest addition to the team, your rigorous and technical approach will be focused on developing and implementing techniques and technology to improve fermentation quality, as well as monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and performance coaching. This role would suit a successful BS graduate with 3-5 years fermentation and talent supervision experience. Your Contribution Essential Functions Setting departmental and individual performance goals. Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their goals and deliverables. Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and performance coaching. Responsible for developing and implementing techniques and technology to improve fermentation quality. Responsible for designing and implementing strategies to improve efficiencies, reduce yield loss and improve COGs. Interacts with process development team daily to ensure that processes and procedures are followed, new processes are understood, and equipment and product is kept in an optimal configuration; this includes preparing and implementing formal training for departmental personnel on process improvements, or changes. Responsible for continuous process improvement (this is a shared task with other peers). Oversee the preparation and implementation of Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for the department. Prepare cost justifications for capital equipment purchases and outside services, as needed. Ensure procedures have been established and are followed. Ensure departmental compliance with established GMP, safety and quality standards and be a role model for good behavior. Occasionally represent departments in GMP audits as necessary. Conduct investigations, collaborating with other departments as needed to course correct, or achieve successful outcomes. Accommodate requests for custom fermentations. Your Accomplishments Required Skills BS and 3-5 years experience in a fermentation production environment. Deep knowledge of microbial fermentation processes, production procedures, and technology. Ability to read and interpret accounting and financial reports for department. Must be able to pass background check and drug screen, as well as be able to work in a variety of conditions: noise, dust, heavy lifting, repetitive motion, standing for long periods of time. Must be able to recognize audible hazards. Your Benefits & Compensation Compensation\$80,000 - \$100,000/yr, depending on experience Direct Hire Opportunity!
