Description:
The Level II Technical Builder is responsible for assisting ImagiCorps' overall production needs by generating top quality exhibits and fixtures as specified and instructed by the Manufacturing Manager, Shop Supervisor, or Lead Builders.
You are passionate about the quality of your work, and a motivated team player. As a member of our superstar team, you are trusted by first-rate clients to achieve quality finished products in a timely manner. You bring the following proficiencies to this role; capable of building reliable products without supervision based on instruction or technical drawings. Capable of specifying and requesting material or hardware, and can assist with local onsite installations when necessary.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Mission:
Fostering Teamwork:
- Seek opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team effort. You can help mentor less experienced peers but may turn to lead builders to develop skillsets regarding certain specialties or finishing touches.
Initiative:
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment and always use appropriate PPE when necessary.
- Be an active team player by seeking opportunities to productively contribute or participate in completing needed work.
- Communicate with the Manufacturing Manager or Shop Supervisor when a project goes off plan.
- Request help/assistance at the appropriate time to meet deadlines.
- Assist with local onsite installation.
Manage Performance:
- Build goods, products, and displays according to instructions and plans in the most time effective and material cost effective manner possible.
- Capable to recognize the appropriate level of quality for "high-end, long-life" products as well as for "one-time use" products.
- Communicate proactively with management and/or team members to increase clarity of the project expectations and seek to resolve challenges that arise with a "can do" attitude.
- Ensure that parts and products meet quality standards by following established guidelines to measure, test, and inspect the product assembled.
- Transact daily activity on a timecard in accordance with ImagiCorps timekeeping procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school education and basic math skills are required.
- 3-5 years' experience as a Cabinet Maker or Finish Carpenter.
- Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: furniture making, exhibits, displays, or events.
- Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: finishing, acrylic, fiberglass, solid surface, sound, lighting, low voltage wiring and electronics.
KNOWLEDGE
- Capable of reading blueprint/production drawings.
SKILLS
Exercise good judgement in maintaining a safe work environment and be active member of the team in promoting safety.
Capable to cut and assemble products based on production drawings.
