Microsoft Corporation Executive Business Administrator in Redmond, Washington

The Cloud & Artificial Intelligence (C+AI) Corporate Strategy team is chartered with defining the strategy for Microsoft’s Cloud and AI business. The team has built a track record of spotting trends early and using those insights to drive Microsoft’s strategy and execution.

The group broadly focuses on three sets of activities:

  • Thought leadership on the major shifts in the technology industry such as Digital Transformation  (e.g., this was the team that originally pushed for Microsoft’s strategy shift towards the cloud https://news.microsoft.com/download/archived/presskits/cloud/docs/The-Economics-of-the-Cloud.pdf )

  • Translating strategy into product reality across Azure (Data & Analytics, Developer, Networking, Identify, IoT, Robotics, AI, Mixed Reality, etc.) and SaaS (Power BI, Dynamics 365, etc.), including big bet M&A (e.g., the team drove the recent GitHub and Nuance acquisitions)

  • Engaging with our top customers to help them formulate their Digital Transformation strategy.

You anticipate the needs of your team to help them stay focused on their projects by resolving operational and administrative issues before they arise. In addition to being organized and analytical, you possess the communication skills and trusted business judgment needed to interact with a variety of people and job functions.

Candidate should be a team player who will demonstrate drive and initiative, and have a positive and professional approach. This Executive Business Administrator will also play a part in making the C+AI Strategy team an effective, efficient, productive and enjoyable organization.

Responsibilities

  • Complex calendar management with senior stakeholders (Corporate Vice-President (CVP) and Executive Vice-President (EVP)) and strategic time prioritization for head of group and senior Leader Team (LT) members (CVP and General Managers (GMs))

  • Handle highly confidential projects including M&A

  • Management of headcount, ROB and space for the teams

  • Interim approver for LT expense reports

  • Support team with logistics for recruiting/hiring

  • Organize team events, such as offsites and social events

  • Provide actionable business insights that enable effective management and decision-making.

  • Manage team’s training compliance

  • Drive for improvements within our business process and resources.

  • Collaborate with teams inside the organization as well as across our business partners in Finance, Marketing, and the rest of C&AI.

  • Undertake special assignments and projects as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years Administrative, Business Support, or customer service experience in an environment with an emphasis on scheduling meetings/events, travel management, and administration work for executive/upper level management.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources [HR], Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Sociology)

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years experience serving as mentor or direct/indirect (e.g., team leader) supervisor to others.

  • 5+ years experience reviewing and managing administrative budgets (e.g., for events, morale, travel, training).

Business Support ATR-E - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $32.16 - $64.90 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $43.08 - $71.25 per hour.
