Posting close date: April 24, 2024 The Opportunity Reporting to the Sr. Manager, US Safety West, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator (EPC) is responsible for supporting the execution of emergency preparedness programs including training, drills, and response with stakeholders across our Western US assets. The office position will have flexibility for the location depending on the successful candidate. Our US Safety team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver within our footprint close to teams they will support. We are seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator who has knowledge and experience in emergency response, incident investigation, and Incident Command Systems. This individual will be a strong facilitator, capable of working with minimal oversight, strategic decision making, problem solving, organizing themselves and others, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. What you'll do Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to personnel on emergency processes and response. Conduct training as required to instruct employees in preparedness and response practices and emergency procedures. Provide emergency guidance and support for regional site/area managers. General oversight and technical support of response plans, drills and exercises. Share best practices with multi-functional teams. Effectively collaborate with stakeholder teams. Support US Safety leadership through raising ideas and supporting the implementation of emergency programs that support local and enterprise goals. Conduct and monitor employee/contractor emergency response training within area of responsibility. Organize and facilitate functional exercises and drills with business partners. Interact with external partners including first responders. Provide subject matter expertise to support regulatory audits from State and Federal Agencies (PHMSA) Facilitate and follow through on post-emergency and exercise debriefs. Maintain ICS training and certifications. Work collaboratively with teams to correct deficiencies. Support the design, development, and maintenance of emergency management policies and programs. Lead emergency response reviews to monitor and ensure fit-for-purpose emergency programs. Assist and drive implementation of emergency management programs. Other tasks as required. Minimum Qualifications Certification or degree in a related discipline of Emergency Management or related discipline or relevant experience in lieu of education. Minimum of 8+ years of related experience in emergency preparedness or response roles in related industry. Experience with loss control, risk management, and safety programs Comprehensive knowledge of applicable industry and government regulations. Strong organizational skills, technical competence, and attention to detail Responsive to customer needs and requests. Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of varying sizes. Proven ability to effectively manage issues and conflict. Anticipates and thrives in dynamic environments and changing requirements. Exercises independent judgment in the planning, organization, and completion of assignments. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in leadership and guidance of incident command post. Advanced certification, accreditation, or degree.
