Meta Electrical Test Engineer (R&D) in Redmond, Washington

Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Test Engineer to join our team, who will design, build, and test prototype electrical systems and validation systems for future consumer wearables experiences. The ideal candidate will have a broad set of validation experiences, including embedded design, analog/mixed signal design, power systems, wearables, or lower power design. More broadly, the candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.

Required Skills:

Electrical Test Engineer (R&D) Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop test solutions to support validation of research hardware throughout the entire development cycle: early prototyping, NFF bring-up, Form-Factor design, and production volume/scaling. Scope includes power, haptics, image sensors, inertial sensors, battery life, high-speed serial buses, etc.

  2. Write tooling in Python and other programming languages to interact with devices under test, standard lab equipment, custom instrumentation, and datasets.

  3. Develop new capabilities to enable analysis of test data, providing a clear view of system level performance against spec targets.

  4. Work with validation team, design engineers, and other cross-functional teams to drive development of test automation infrastructure based on business needs.

  5. Understand project goals, participate in engineering design reviews, provide Design for Test input, and deliver results toward system validation objectives.

  6. Maintain and troubleshoot existing test infrastructure, working closely with cross functional teams to root cause and address failures.

  7. Communicate status to all stakeholders and drive closure of all issues uncovered from validation tests in every phase of the project.

  8. Domestic and or International travel up to 10%.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, related technical field or equivalent work experience.

  2. 5+ years of experience in component/system level testing, hardware testing, and software test tool development.

  3. Experience with test equipment and measurement techniques to verify and validate product requirements.

  4. Project management skills to clearly track and communicate status of all work.

  5. Experience applying statistical concepts and methods to analyze test data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in Consumer Electronics, low power, or AR/VR-class battery powered devices.

  2. Experience defining and coordinating test procedures in a lab and factory environment to facilitate system bring-up and evaluation.

  3. Experience designing full system prototypes.

  4. Understanding of hardware system coexistence and interoperability tests.

  5. Proficiency in Python with familiarity of best practices (linting, typing, unit testing, etc.).

  6. Experience with automating Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems (LabJack, National Instruments DAQmx, DEWESoft, etc.).

Public Compensation:

$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
