Responsibilities

The Surface design verification team is looking to hire a candidate who will be responsible for the creation and execution of Camera and Fingerprint electronics design validation solutions across our device portfolio. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality consumer products and experiences, with demonstrated experience in design verification and validation of camera electronics preferred. You will develop comprehensive design verification strategies and plans bridging high-level customer experience use cases to product architecture/design to effectively and systematically reveal and verify design and production defects. You will provide critical analysis of test data and drive the right solutions, design changes, and trade-offs in the context of business priorities. On a frequent basis, you will create and introduce innovative test techniques and methods to ensure robust product qualification. In addition, you will utilize your knowledge of critical performance data and your statistical data analysis techniques to set product test requirements and limits. You will develop test methodologies and plans, execute test procedures, debug/bring-up and project-manage qualification cycles. You will work closely with camera engineers, module suppliers, manufacturing test and reliability to insure end customer delight with Surface camera experiences.

Required Skills

  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical design considerations impacting camera/fingerprint signal quality and stability

  • Working knowledge with high-speed electrical interfaces, low-speed serial control interfaces

  • Understanding of low-noise linear and switching power supply circuits

  • Experience with a scripting and/or programming language (PowerShell, C#, C++, Python, etc.)

  • Define and develop test solutions to verify electrical, mechanical, and thermal performance

  • Identify critical performance metrics and apply statistical data analysis techniques to define manufacturing test requirements and limits related to camera/fingerprint signal quality.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related degree with relevant experience

  • 5+ years of industry related experience in Camera/Fingerprint electrical design or verification

  • Working experience with communication interfaces USB, MIPI, I2C, and SPI

  • Experience in schematic and board layout review using Cadence or equivalent.

  • Understanding of PCB layout principles, including high speed signal integrity, power integrity, de-sense, DFM, etc.

  • Experience using high speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers and function generators

  • Knowledge of signal processing related to biometric analysis is a good plus

  • Experience in writing test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports.

  • Capable of developing test solutions to verify camera electrical, power, thermal and optical performance.

  • Effective communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms

  • Must be able to plan work, and work to a plan adapting as necessary in a rapidly evolving environment

  • Enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven

  • Willing to travel internationally up to 20%.
