We are looking for an Data Scientist to collaborate with our data science and engineering teams to build solutions that improve our data center delivery cycle time. As a Data Scientist, you will partner with various teams to develop business requirements to standardize the business input and develop a long-term vision.

Responsibilities

  • Business Management: Understands business goals of the customer, exploresanalytics applications, incorporates best practices in identifying growth opportunities.

  • Data Preparation and Understanding : Assists with extract transform load (ETL), addresses data quality issues, applies the right analysis techniquesand leverages the right data exploration technologies and tools (e.g., structured query language (SQL), Python, descriptive statistics, etc.).

  • Building end-to-end Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions: Owns business customer relationship, Data Acquisition/ETL, BI reporting, Data Quality/Security aspects by adopting standard architectural standards.

  • Business Understanding and Impact : Learns project requirements from a business perspective and assists senior leaders with project assessment, development of a project plan and actionable business insights.

  • Coding and Debugging : Contributes to agile code development, testing/debugging, documentationand implementation to improve reliability of systems/solutions.

  • Customer/Partner Orientation : Leverages data science and assistswith interpreting results, develops insights, and communicates results to customers.

  • Evaluating for Insight and Impact : Createsmodels to achieve business objectives, analyzes model performance and incorporates customer feedback into model evaluation.

  • Modeling and Statistical Analysis : Incorporates various modeling techniques (e.g., linear/logistic regression, decision-tree, etc.) and contributes to the research, identification, prototyping, and productizing of machine learning (ML)/artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and algorithms.

  • Problem Solving: Possesses problem-solving skills to help refine problem statements and solve them with the available data.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) or consulting experience

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year(s) hands-on experience inprograming in Python.

  • 1+ year(s) hands-on experience in SQL queries.

  • 1+ year(s) hands-on experience ina data visualization tool like Power BI.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:   • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ year(s) hands-on experience in Data Acquisition/ETL.

  • 2+ year(s)hands-on experience in AI, MLor statistical modeling.

  • Experience in data center infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in applying quantitative methods to structured and unstructured data for data analysis, pattern recognition, insights generation, metrics development, and scaling reports.

Data Science IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
