Data Scientist II- Insights, Data Engineering & Analytics (IDEAs)

Our team plays a key role in providing data and analytics for Experiences + Devices (E+D) Group, owns the end-to-end reporting and key data assets utilized for leadership review . As a Data Scientist II in IDEAs, you would be leveraging the power of data, the skill of analysis, the science of learning to drive growth of our Consumer products & services.

T his work includes:

  • Providing holistic product and business insights inweekly / monthly meetings

  • Working with a wide array of audiences (Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Sales) and working in a consultative manner to provide insights and clear actions

  • Providing clear data/reporting to determine the current performance and future outlooks for scorecard metrics

  • Providing actionable intelligence and analytics that will drive growth of our products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with specific functions / domains with teams focused on Consumer Business, Engineering, and Finance

  • Work with these stakeholders to define clear signals of success, which translate into simple, easily understood metrics

  • Work with Data Science and Data Engineering resources to develop requirements for data, reporting, views, tools

  • Develop roadmap of data-based capabilities and tools to meet vision of scenarios

  • Lead deep dives and analyses into metric performance and special projects

  • Own rhythm of business (RoB) for data driven meetings (MBRs, Scorecard Reviews, etc). This includes trend analysis, variance analysis, commentary development, findings, insights and working with stakeholders to articulate what actions are being taken on each scenario to drive or improve performance.

  • Create forecasts using basic tools that can be supplemented with learnings from our partner machine learning science team

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience, including hands-on analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation , managing structured and unstructured data.

o OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ years data-science experience, including hands-on analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation , managing structured and unstructured data.

o OR Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related, including hands-on analytics experience with proven quantitative orientation , managing structured and unstructured data.

oOR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years experience working with large data manipulation and data mining using SQL

  • 1+ years experience working with the following: Excel (advanced proficiency), PowerPoint, as well as visualization tools such as Power BI or equivalent.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Data Lake infrastructures (Cosmos, Hadoop)

  • Experience with Power BI preferred

  • Demonstrated problem solving, technical and data analysis skills

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration

Data Science IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
