Microsoft Corporation Data Analyst II in Redmond, Washington
The Insights, Data Engineering and Analytics Team under Data and Platform Group is looking for a passionate, creative, analytical, and experienced analyst who loves big data, curious to identify ways to track the digital experiences, and explore and unveil insights to create a business story and reporting to impact key business decisions. Our team provides the data and insights needed to run and grow the business through growth and media campaigns. This work includes:
Providing holistic performance and business insights.
Providing data and insights for product, engineering, field, marketing, go-to-market, and media teams.
Delivering data sets and 1:many exploration tools that democratize business and customer insights for the product engineering, marketing, and our field teams. This includes common data models and architecture, and data governance.
Providing actionable intelligence and analytics that will make our products and services better and grow our business. This includes forecasting and predictive modeling.
This Data Analyst position is a key role that serves in capturing and understanding the digital experiences of our customers / audiences to support the Commercial and SMB initiatives and organizations in implementing successful and efficient growth campaigns. The scope includes understanding how Engineering, Field, Media, Marketing and Product teams can target the right SMB and Commercial customers / audiences and how their tactics can be tracked to accurately evaluate performance and allocate investments to the most appropriate ones. Also includes stakeholder engagement and close collaboration with and leveraging efforts of data scientists, project managers, data engineers and other data analysts of the Insights, Data Engineering and Analytics Team.

Responsibilities
Partner with specific teams that work closely with SMB and Commercial clients and develop a deep understanding of those areas
Have a clear view of the OKRs and KPIs the teams are driving towards and provide attribution based insights that enable the teams to optimize based on those OKRs and KPIs
Provide guidance on technology investments ensuring the end goal for collecting detailed data to produce actionable attribution based insights is achieved
Work with Engineering, Media and Marketing partners to develop integrations to Microsoft marketing technology ensuring a common data collection and reporting process
Work with Finance partners to build funnels and KPIs that effectively measure growth campaign and paid media campaign performance
Work with product, engineering and marketing teams to run and report on experiments that lead to optimal outcomes.
Promote standardization and automation of processes that will lead to productization of the attribution trackers
Partner with analytics, data science, and data engineering partners for build common data structures, increase data democratization, and improve model development
Work closely with data engineering to deliver requirements for data infrastructure
Ensure data accuracy via UAT
Qualifications
4-6 years’ analytics experience
Ability to do large data manipulation using SQL, R, Python, or other data languages is a must
Ability to work in a team environment that promotes collaboration
Working knowledge of web telemetry, audience management, or other marketing technology tools
Media agency, ad operations, and/or ad tech experiences are a plus
Good understanding of causal experimentation methods is necessary
Prior experience in consumer and B2B acquisition, renewal and expansion campaigns, marketing automation, content marketing, and digital marketing a plus
Exceptional problem solving, technical and data analysis skills
Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data
