We’re looking for an attorney to join our Privacy, Safety & Regulatory Affairs legal team in the role of Corporate Counsel, Accessibility Regulation to help solve challenging accessibility issues impacting Microsoft’s business around the world.
This role is an individual contributor who will be central to Microsoft’s internal compliance with global accessibility laws and regulations like the European Accessibility Act, Communications and Video Accessibility Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act. The role will encompass close collaboration with product teams, including lawyers and engineers, and technical and policy professionals in the Chief Accessibility Officer’s organization.

Responsibilities
Works closely with legal and business stakeholders to drive compliance, manage reporting, and prioritize focus areas and investments.
Analyzes and provides actionable guidance on applicability and implementation of requirements of new accessibility laws and regulations.
Creates and delivers ongoing accessibility training and communications.
Collaborates with product and litigation counsel to assess and respond to regulator and customer escalations and legal complaints.
Engages with industry and policy stakeholders on developing legislation, regulations, and standards.
Collaborates with other Privacy, Safety, and Regulatory Affairs teams on cross-domain projects.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree AND 1+ year(s) experience as a practicing attorney with law firm or in-house experience and familiarity with accessibility laws.
OR equivalent experience.
Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global accessibility standards preferred.
Legal Counsel IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
