The Content & Learning organization (C&L) within the Cloud + AI division plays a critical role in this mission to enable contributors to produce technical educational content for Microsoft Learn, Microsoft Docs, and more. This person will create content for internal and external contributors that upskills the people who educate Microsoft’s customers.

The ideal candidate is someone who loves creating high quality documentation experiences and understands how to design for the intended audience. This includes discovery and awareness, information architecture, layout and design, and the actual clarity of the information contained within our guides.

We are a small but high performing team, with strong customer focus, bias for action, and excitement about our discipline. We aim to make it easy for contributors to learn across different audiences, roles, skill levels, and learning styles. The heart of our Content Contributor Success team is all about welcoming, training, onboarding, and continuously engaging with our community of content contributors – this role is key to crafting the source materials that underpin our work.

  • Create, manage, and lead content development forinternal guidance across Microsoft Learn, Microsoft Docs, and moreas appropriate.

  • Create and curate documentationthat meets the needs of our contributors.

  • Analyze the performance of content to identify issues and gaps in collaboration withsubject matter experts.

  • Work cross-functionally with Content, Product PM, Engineering, Data Science, and other teams.

  • Exchange ideas, data, and feedback across the organization to promote the value of cross-organization partnership, and to help identify opportunities where we can optimize and improve.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical content development experience

  • Excellentcontent strategy and information architectureskills

  • Excellent problem-solving, creative thinking, andproject managementskills

  • Excellent written, verbal presentation, and communications skills - including the keen ability to translate complex ideas into various mediums for effective, audience-appropriate consumption

  • Strategic thinker with strong collaboration skillsand sharp focus on data analysis

  • Strong sense of curiosity and desire to self-study, learn, share, and improve

Preferred:

  • Strong instructional design background

  • Solid knowledge of GitHub and Markdown

  • Experience deliveringinstructor-led or web-based training

  • Experience working with UI/UX text experiences

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experiencein technical communication or instructional design
