Microsoft Corporation Compliance Manager in Redmond, Washington

Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) builds the physical datacenters, networks, fiber paths, and satellite base stations around the world that support Microsoft’s entire cloud business strategy. The AMERS Regional Compliance Manager is crucial in upholding and enhancing our reputation for compliance and ethical conduct within the Americas region. The Compliance Manager role involves implementing and monitoring compliance standards and policies for our CO+I division of Microsoft, with an emphasis on Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption, Human Rights, Third Party Risk Management, as well as supporting our construction audit, AI Compliance, Controls Monitoring, and Financial Compliance programs. This person will serve as the primary point of contact for all compliance-related matters in the region, ensuring alignment with Microsoft Policy, global standards, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Policy Implementation and Monitoring: Adopt, tailor, and enforce global compliance standards and policies in the AMERS region, while also ensuring all operations align with our ABAC, Human Rights, and Third-Party Risk Management commitments.

  • Regulatory Vigilance: Keep abreast of industry best practices and regulatory requirements, incorporating these insights into our compliance framework to ensure our datacenter delivery and operations surpass industry standards.

  • Training and Advocacy: Design and implement comprehensive training programs to foster a culture of compliance and ethical business practices across the region.

  • Incident Management: Serve as primary contact for all compliance inquiries and issues within the AMERS region, triaging to appropriate Compliance SMEs where necessary.

  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the compliance program, adapting strategies to meet the dynamic landscape of regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business, legal/regulatory, compliance, audit/consulting firmo OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in building and scaling risk management or compliance programs, ideally within a data center or technology-focused environment.

  • Proven capability in developing and overseeing effective compliance programs.

  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives, engage with senior stakeholders, and drive cross-function collaboration.

Compliance IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
